1. Safety and Risk Acknowledgment:
- Riding at any standard has inherent risks, and all horses may react unpredictably on occasions. You may fall off and could be injured. By booking, you accept this risk.
- Instructions are given for your safety, and you agree to follow them
- Wearing a correctly fitting riding hat and body protector may reduce the severity of an injury should an accident happen. You agree to always wear a riding hat while mounted.
- It is your choice whether to wear a body protector, although the RASC(L) strongly recommend it.
- Body protectors are mandatory for Cross Country.
2. Honesty and Disclosure:
- Your riding instructor will make decisions based on the information you provide. You agree to always be honest and volunteer information about your abilities, riding experience, any previous riding accidents, and any medical conditions that may affect your ability to ride.
- For horse welfare all clients are weighed before the first lesson and every 6 months - max limit: of 15stone - this is 95.25kg (fully dressed inc hat and boots). You are required to keep your height and weight up to date on EC Pro.
3. Competition Participation:
- Competing carries enhanced risks over and above general riding. If you choose to participate in any competition or event, it is your responsibility to ensure that you have the experience and ability to undertake the ridden tasks, including any jumps. If in doubt, use your judgment and experience and do not enter.
4. Insurance Recommendation:
- As riding is a risk sport, we recommend that you take out personal accident insurance.
5. Right to Withdraw:
- We reserve the right to withdraw any client who we feel is either unsafe or unsuitable. A decision will be made by a qualified instructor or management and is final.
6. Volunteering on the Yard:
- Clients are welcome to help on the yard, but please ensure you have been inducted by a member of our staff before doing so.
- We recommend you have adequate personal accident insurance.
- Your choice to ride or help on the yard is voluntary, so please accept that you do so at your own risk and do not hold the riding centre or its employees responsible for accidental damage or injury (excluding accidents caused by negligence).
- Volunteers must be 14 or over unless supervised by a responsible adult.
7. Children's Safety:
- Children are at particular risk around horses. You agree to keep any children you are responsible for under close supervision when they are not being instructed by the riding school.
8. Right to Refuse:
- The riding school may refuse your request to ride for safety and operational reasons.
9. Filming of lessons:
- Photography and video recording of any kind is not permitted without the prior permission of the riding school staff. If you wish to take photographs of your child on horseback, please speak to the riding instructor who will arrange for you to take photographs at the end of the lesson.
